Brett Coryell

Brett Coryell, Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, leads the Division of Information Technology (DoIT) for Northern Illinois University’s four campuses. He has served on the iFiber Board since 2014. Brett directs DoIT, and works collaboratively with other IT departments around campus to encourage and promote the development, implementation, and advancement of the university mission through technology. He reports to the President, is a member of the University Council, and is vice president for IPATHE.

Coryell came to NIU from Emory University in Atlanta in 2014, where he served as the deputy CIO for nearly seven years. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Purdue University and a Master’s in Computer Science from the University of Virginia.
